Build the operating system for intelligent, empathetic AI companions.
We’re building the core runtime that lets AI companions perceive, reason, remember, and act. We’re looking for a Conversation Designer – Enterprise Characters (Forward-Deployed) who can bring this to life inside large organizations.
This is not a purely internal product role. You’ll be a forward-deployed designer: working directly with enterprise design, CX, and product teams to turn their brand, constraints, and goals into compelling AI characters and conversational experiences.
What you’ll do
-
Design and implement AI characters for large organizations: personality bibles, tone guides, conversation patterns, and edge-case behavior tuned to their brand and risk profile.
-
Translate enterprise constraints into character behavior: legal, compliance, and CX needs → prompts, policies, and conversation guidelines.
-
Work closely with partner teams: run workshops, review transcripts, gather feedback, and align across stakeholders (design, product, legal, operations).
-
Shape open-ended, relationship-based experiences, not just task flows—recurring interactions, continuity of memory, and emotional “feel.”
-
Collaborate with our engineers to turn your designs into LLM prompts, tools, and evaluation rubrics, and iterate based on real usage data.
Who you are
-
Open-minded and curious: you’re excited to work with very different industries and user needs.
-
Technically savvy: comfortable thinking in terms of prompts, tools, states, and system constraints (you don’t need to code, but you talk easily with engineers).
-
User-obsessed and story-driven: you care deeply about how a character feels over weeks and months, not just in a single demo.
- Calm and confident navigating enterprise processes: you’re patient with reviews, clear in communication, and good at getting to decisions.
Must-haves
-
3+ years of experience in conversation design, UX writing, narrative design, or related roles, with experience at least across 2 different organizations (agencies, product companies, consultancies, or enterprises).
-
Proven experience with LLM-based chatbots or companions, not only rules-based systems.
-
Meaningful enterprise exposure: You’ve built bots/agents for large companies or worked inside a sizable organization shipping conversational experiences at scale.
- A portfolio or body of work showing: Character/companion specs (tone/personality docs, sample dialogues), and shipped or piloted conversational experiences.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience building or tuning characters on platforms like Character.AI, Replika, Poe, SillyTavern, or similar.
- Background in CX/support/sales automation or co-pilot experiences.
- Familiarity with voice agents (contact center, IVR, real-time voice companions).
- Experience defining conversation quality metrics, tagging data, or running qualitative studies.
What we offer
- The chance to shape the character layer for multiple large organizations, not just a single product surface.
- A small, fast-moving, international team working at the intersection of emotional design and cutting-edge AI.
