AI Conversation Designer II

Remote (US) Full time

The AI Conversation Designer will build, test, and scale chatbots in numerous e-commerce settings using an in-house chatbot coding language and generative AI. In this role, you will optimize and build conversation flows with the goal of converting and supporting customers. You’ll be proficient in LLM prompting and LLM applications and you will develop captivating content for our existing chatbots. 
Leveraging your analytical and problem-solving skills, you’ll assess the accuracy and coherence of bots, and review customer transcripts to identify gaps in the conversation design. The AI Conversation Designer will excel at conversation design across the customer lifecycle, from point of sale to customer care

What You’ll Do

  • Create AI chatbots to deliver an effective and delightful conversational experience 
  • Harness generative AI solutions (such as prompt engineering, output evaluation, fine-tuning, etc.) in various bot contexts
  • Craft compelling content for our existing chatbots 
  • Define an efficient process for identifying targeted follow-up questions based on keywords 
  • Optimize existing conversation flows and build new ones that engage, convert, and support customers  
  • Evaluate whether bots are accurate and coherent, review customer transcripts to identify gaps in the conversation design, and modify the chatbot to fill those gaps 
  • Work with the Analytics team to measure and quantify the impact of improvements 
  • Conduct linguistic and functional quality assurance of the chatbot 
  • Work closely with Product Managers to identify new testing opportunities and conversational strategies  

What We’re Looking For

  • 1+ years of experience in Conversation Design, Programming, or Computational Linguistics 
  • Strong knowledge in developing chatbots or working on AI projects 
  • Exceptional logical, analytical, and organizational skills 
  • Basic understanding of NLP techniques, libraries, or toolkits as well as Regular Expression (Regex), Python, or ChatScript 
  • Understanding technologies and platforms such as Dialogflow, Watson, VoiceFlow, etc. and how they impact conversation designs 
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in LLM prompting and LLM applications 
  • Intermediate or higher proficiency in Microsoft Excel 
  • Excellent business judgement and analytical problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to take direction and work autonomously once briefed 
  • Proficiency PowerBI and/or Google Analytics preferred  
  • Familiarity with Agile or experience working in scrum sprints preferred  
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Teams is a plus 
  • Familiarity with Azure Boards and/or Asana, more broadly project management software 
  • Experience in Python or C++ highly preferred  
  • Bachelor’s degree, Master’s Degree or PhD in Computer Science, Linguistics, Computational Linguistics, or a related field
